MXS CONCEPT – MX Simulator France // Interview : Jay Andrew The Australian Trackmaker !
Interview : Jay Andrew The Australian Trackmaker !
Hello Jay,can you tell our readers some info about yourself ?
I am 18 years of age and have been about motocross since the first time I saw a bike ~ age 6. Since then I have competed at several Australian MX championships and made the finals every year. I am originally from Western Australia however moved to QLD in 2008 to further pursue racing after winning the WA state MX title. 2008 was also the year I was lucky enough to own my first computer which would soon be destroyed by my good mate and fellow Sim player Steven (Boblob) and it was with that hatred towards Steven that sparked an ongoing war trying to outdo everything he attempted to create which ultimately led me to where I am today.
We got a partnership for hosting Australian Sx series last year, its going to be the same this year. What you think about that?
I think it is a great step forward for the ASX series and a huge + for the entire MXS community having both championships at such a mirrored time to each other as it allows almost everyone a chance to be a part of a great developing series on some fun/different tracks.
You really stepped up the way how a track can look in mx simulator, tons of work and details are the key of the sucess?
In a word Yes. I would like to reference a lot of techniques I currently use back to the creation of the Motosport Compound which evolved months of trial particularly with terrain shaders.
Can you tell us some info about your project for this year ?
Well the plan for this year was when I got back from USA to completely reformat my harddrive and not reinstall MX Simulator however I decided I would continue trying to make a track that would hopefully raise the bar higher for track creation and I hope to do that with each round of the SXON series.
What would you tell to someone wanna start creating track ?
If you don’t have patience don’t start and if we were not meant to make mistakes there would be no need for rubbers…
Your mostly an sx track maker, can we expect an mx series from you someday?
An MX series no however I do believe I can do MX tracks just as good as an SX.
We got a french track maker (Maxime Bourut) making Belgium replica track for an mxs concept series after the summer, what would you answer if i ask you to join us the project ?
I would be more than happy to assist you if needed.
We will make a column with you one time per month so you can tell and show to the people how the project advance.
So its all for now and be patient and ready for the first column of jay in july !
